Markakis Gets Paid

On Monday, the Orioles and RF Nick Markakis agreed to a 6 year extension worth $66 million. Markakis will be an Oriole until 2014. Now that the one of the cornerstones of the team is in place, it is time to focus on the other guys. On Tuesday, the O’s agreed to a one year contract with Luke Scott. The deal is worth $2.4 million. All-Star Closer George Sherrill is the only guy left.

Before we know it, Spring Training will start. I’m tired of saying this, but the Orioles need pitching. It is aways been the teams problem. Unless the team addresses the pitching, I will have no confidence in them doing anything this season.
